If i ' m using my hog - bristle enamel brushes a lot I shop them in Mineral Turpentine ( ' Turps ' or ' White Spirit ' ) by drilling a hole thru the ferrule ( the metal part that holds the brushes ) inserting a length of coat - hanger wire and postponing them over a pan of Turps so that the bristles are covered. Some brushes I store in linseed oil if I am not going to be using them for awhile. Use a liquid brush restorer first if you have got to.
